thx Joep.

Sounds like a great program. Have to check it out!

Show what you can do with it in this thread, could be fun

sounds fun. Will post when I’ve had some fun with it at home.
thanks for the effort.

looks interesting - thanks for posting the link.

Any insights would be useful as my first test produced an enormous file size,

…to the feebees

can you guys give me some tips on how to use this ivy generator. I am an ‘‘hobbyist’’ and zbrush is the only prog I kinda know. So help will be wonderful.
Thanks
matt

Just make an object in ZB, export the object as .obj-file.
Start the generator program and import the .obj-file. Double-click at some point of the object and hit the GROW button, to stop the growing hit the button again.
(Do not wait too long to stop it!). Then hit the BIRTH. After it you can export the object.

This is a killer looking program. Looks like there are a lot of possibilities here bas. Thx for sharing

See here for the explanations

thanks Bas for the explanation, it s so much easier now.

matt

thanks for experimenting Frenchy and thanks for the link

I’m making my taxes… what do you expect…
ZBeer.jpg
And my wife caught me making this… omg… teh painzzzz…
Lemo

PS:Green stuff from Ivy tool, beer flute Zbrush sweep tool, textures from texture pack two. And a tad photoshop and someones fridge from the web

PPS: You need to triangulate the exported geometry for the ivy tool to work well. And a great guy at CGtalk/C4D Forum has ported it to the Mac.

PPPS: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=47&t=474581&page=5&pp=15

And you must have a graphic card not too old for see “textures” inside IVY
Else somebody know if Open GL2 is used in IVY?

No Frenchy, I don’t see the texture. This is a ZB Material. ZBrush cannot display the ivy texture with the alpha masking. In XSI and C4d I can see it of course…
If that’s what you are referring to?!
Lemo

Is there a simple procedure for ivy shaped leaves…

…instead of square?

Pride, if you do not make too much leafs, push the autogroup button, hide the branches and group the leafs. Use a leaftexture with an alpha.

Alpha Works?! Something besides the texture transparency button?!
Lemo running away to try…

PS:I think you are lacking the OGL support you need Frenchy Pilou… You are right.
