Craig McDean is a British fashion photographer from Manchester but now he is based in New York City. He trained and worked as a car mechanic before studying photography at Mid Cheshire College. His work is mainly based in the studio but also does some location work too.
These are three shots he has done in a studio, I like how the black and white ones of Rihanna have really light point and really dark points in different places of the image, on the second one it looks like the light is above her but infront of her.
In this image, he has caught the model in movement, the shutter speed must have been on a fast setting to get the movement to not be blurry, it looks like she is jumping in the air. I think it looks good how the model has positioned herself in order to make the image and the model look powerful. The props also give the picture extra things to look at, and they're just little things which bring the whole photo togehter.
