     The 2001 softball season was one for the ages for Jennie Finch. She gave up only one run in her first five games and ended the year by shutting out UCLA, 1-0 in the Women's College World Series championship game. She was awarded National Player of the Year honors in addition to being Pac-10 pitcher of the Year and the Women's College World Series most outstanding player. Widely regarded as the top pitcher in the nation in 2002,Jennie did not disappoint and posted a year which earned her a second National Player of the year honor. She set an NCAA record in 2002 by accumulating 60 consecutive victories, a total that spanned three seasons. At the time of her induction, Jennie was still listed in the Arizona top 10 pitching records. After completing her eligibility, Jennie was selected to represent the United States on the USA national team and helped the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team win the gold medal in Athens, Greece. In the summer of 2007, Jennie pitched a three-hitter as the U.S. defeated Canada, 7-0, en route to the 2007 World Cup of Softball championship in Oklahoma City. In September of 2007, Jennie was once again named to the 18 player roster which made up Team USA and will compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
