Juventus Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of March 17

As of now, Juventus could win the league with more than 100 points. No team has done that before. And they’ve got a big game left on Thursday against Fiorentina in the Europa League. Juventus will host the final in May. So there really isn’t much to worry about.

Paul Pogba is happy. Claudio Marchisio, who struggled to find a spot in the lineup, is now getting the time he deserves. “I want to stay here for a long time,” he told reporters, per FourFourTwo. And Andrea Pirlo won another game for Juventus. He has now scored 10 of his 25 goals off free kicks in Serie A for Juve. He is now just two short of the record held by Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Here are a few updates on the market.

He tried to stop Pirlo, but Mattia Perin could not reach the ball. It was past him. Before that, he and Genoa could’ve stopped Juve from scoring for once. But they have scored now in 41 straight matches in Serie A, and Perin was the latest victim.

Dino Zoff told Pianetagenoa1893.net (via TuttoMercatoWeb) that it’s too early to make comparisons between Perin and Gigi Buffon. Buffon himself made his 476th appearance for Juventus, tying the great Zoff. Maybe Perin could eventually replace Buffon not only in the national team, but for the Bianconeri.

Not so. Not yet, anyway. Perin’s agent has had “no contact” with any other club (h/t Football Italia) and he said that 21-year-old is likely to stay with Genoa.

Antonio Candreva once played for a season for Juventus on loan from Udinese. He has since found a steady job at Lazio, and the Roman club would like to keep him.

Udinese still control 50 percent of the player, and Lazio picked up the other half last summer for €1.7 million, according to Football Italia. Udinese may want a fee around €7 million for the full rights to the 27-year-old. Lega Calcio decided in a meeting early March that teams can continue to broker co-ownership deals, but Lazio and Udinese must reconvene after these 12 months. The deadline is set for May 24, per Football Italia.

Links with Manchester United and Juventus have emerged. But reports indicate that Candreva wants to stay in the capital (h/t Football Italia). He is likely to play for Italy in the 2014 World Cup.

La Repubblica reported earlier in the week that Lazio could sell a crop of their starters, including Bosnian Senad Lulic. Juventus could win the race for the attacker, and according to Football Italia, Lulic could “help the team change to a 4-3-3 formation in time for next season.”

Milan are also interested in the 28-year-old winger, according to Il Messaggero (via TuttoMercatoWeb). He could go for anywhere between €15 million and €18 million.

He wants to win the Ballon d’Or, and he played another great game for Juventus against Genoa on the weekend. This 21-year-old is going to attract attention. Reports in the Daily Mirror in England and Mundo Deportivo in Spain (as per TuttoMercatoWeb) suggest that Pogba would only move to Real Madrid in the event that he leaves Juventus.

The price, however, is €40 million, and Real Madrid would not be willing to spend that much. Madrid could offer Angel di Maria as a counterweight for the deal, but another report from El Confidencial (via TuttoMercatoWeb) suggests that manager Carlo Ancelotti does not want to part with Di Maria anyway.

The Frenchman seems to be done with PSG. He has played in just 11 games in Ligue 1 and scored just twice. His contract ends after this season, but negotiations have gone nowhere. "I have three months remaining on my contract at PSG," he told France Bleu, per FourFourTwo. "We will see what will happen at the end of the season."

Maybe Juventus could offer him an escape and path back to Serie A, where the 26-year-old enjoyed success and failure with Roma.

He is a two-footed player with even quicker feet, and he is yet another wide player who could fit in Antonio Conte’s system. It looks like they’ve made a conscious choice to sign the player for free.
