Wolfsburg's Ivica Olic wants a new deal with the German side, according to kicker-Sportmagazin via Sky Sports.

The ex-Bayern Munich man is Wolfsburg's top scorer this season with 12 goals in 28 games, per Transfermarkt.com.

Despite interest from Mark Hughes at Stoke, per The Daily Mail, Olic now wants to stay at Wolfsburg with the possibility of European football next season looking more likely.

Hughes publicly courted Olic whose contract expires in the summer, but with Wolfsburg inching closer to fourth place in the Bundesliga, it appears that the Croatian striker has done a U-turn on his decision.

Wolfsburg have four games remaining in their league campaign and three of those games are against teams who are currently fighting relegation, per Transfermarkt.com.

They will play Hamburg, Freiburg and Stuttgart before finishing out the season against fellow Champions League hopefuls Borussia Monchengladbach at home.

Wolfsburg—who are likely to spend big in various departments of their team this summer— face an uphill battle to keep left-back Ricardo Rodriguez, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer, according to Alex Miller of the Daily Mail

Another one of their hot prospects, Maximilian Arnold, has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Juventus, according to Goal.com, and with the form that 21-year-old central defender Robin Knoche has been in, it is not impossible to think many of Europe's bigger clubs will coming knocking on his door sooner rather than later.

The common denominator in all of this is European football. Every team that a Wolfsburg player has been linked with is set to play in the Champions League next season and currently Wolfsburg are not.

However, a surge into fourth spot in the Bundesliga and Champions League football next year could convince many of their stars to reconsider their futures at the club.
