Consistency has been difficult for most La Liga teams to come upon this season so far, and any conspicuous starters will be hoping to come upon improved form in Week 5 of the campaign.

Tuesday kicks off an onslaught of midweek matchups holding a lot of promise in terms of potential table impact, with both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in particular looking to unearth some momentum.

Key Players to Watch

Fabian Orellana vs. Deportivo La Coruna

Depor are hoping to bounce back from their 8-2 embarrassment suffered at the hands of Real Madrid on Saturday, a result which sent their goal difference plummeting.

In that regard, Tuesday's trip to face Celta Vigo looks a daunting one, especially with Fabian Orellana having scored three goals in his last four outings to help Celta claim an unbeaten run so far this term.

The Chilean international has kicked on well after impressing in recent years, and despite not managing to do so at former club Granada, Eduardo Berizzo's system has allowed the forward to find clinical form.

Orellana isn't specified as a striker in Berizzo's attack, either, as ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan hailed the 28-year-old for his performance on the wing during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Atletico:

Dermot Corrigan @dermotmcorrigan

Orellana on right-wing for Celta started season really well. Am guessing they might try and get him behind Ansaldi if/when he bombs on.

Depor look like a wounded animal after that dismal visit of Real, and Celta will hope to pour further woe on their season, Orellana posing a special threat for this week's hosts.

James Rodriguez vs. Elche

And one of the figures who contributed to that mauling of Deportivo was Los Blancos' James Rodriguez, who netted his first La Liga goal for Carlo Ancelotti's side in what the manager is hoping is only the start of something spectacular.

Paddy Power posted footage of the effort that opened Deportivo's defence up, and what a way to begin one's scoring reign in Spain's top flight:

Real Madrid scored EIGHT yesterday, and James Rodríguez's effort was the best of the lot. Oof! https://t.co/nNtY4gPbNv

This week sees the Colombian welcome the threat of Elche to the Bernabeu, the visitors having already leaked eight goals this term and promising to see that figure worsen upon making their way to Madrid.

Rodriguez has drawn some criticism for his failure to hit the same heights of a spectacular 2014 World Cup thus far, but with his first now in the bag, Rodriguez's run will next be tested by a vulnerable Elche.

Joao Miranda vs. Almeria

One might have thought it ridiculous to suggest four games into the 2014-15 La Liga season, Joao Miranda would sit as Los Rojiblancos' top scorer, but such is the reality after a slow start to the campaign.

The Brazilian grabbed his second goal of the term during Atleti's 2-2 draw with Celta, his centre-back partner Diego Godin scoring the other.

Rik Sharma of the Daily Mail notes just how adept Diego Simeone's men have been from the set piece:

Rik Sharma @riksharma_

Two set piece goals from Atletico today. The two centre-backs (Miranda, Godin) scored them. How are they so good from dead balls?

Scoring is all well and good, of course, but without the fixtures to match those figures, Miranda's individual exploits count for little.

More than anything, Simeone will hope to see a more disciplined defensive performance when his team make the trip to Almeria, Atleti having already conceded four goals this term, an average of one goal let in per game.
