Sakho Hurts Thigh

Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho has aggravated a thigh injury that has kept him out of action for the past several weeks, and according to assistant manager Colin Pascoe, he will spend the next few weeks on the sidelines as well.

Pascoe told reporters the France international has been making solid progress, via Liverpoolfc.com's Chris Shaw:

He's progressing well. He was unfortunatehe came back in and picked up a similar injury.

It will be another couple of weeks for Mamadou and then hopefully he'll be back. As soon as he's fit and raring to go, he's available.

Sakho hasn't featured for the Reds since late September. Following an incident where he left the stadium ahead of a match against Everton, as reported by the Daily Mirror's Aaron Flanagan, it was widely speculated the centre-back was in Brendan Rodgers' dog house.

The lengthy injury certainly didn't help matters, and with the Reds struggling on the defensive side of the ball, the Frenchman could have had a chance to prove to Rodgers he deserved to start for the Reds.

Instead, it appears he'll have to wait a few more weeks before he can return to the pitch and battle for his spot.
