Johnson Withdrawn With Groin Problem

Sunday, Dec. 14

Liverpool's poor start to the 2014-15 season took another potential turn for the worst on Sunday, as defender Glen Johnson had to leave the match against Manchester United due to an injury.Β

Liverpool tweeted the substitution:Β

#LFC substitution: Kolo Toure is introduced for Glen Johnson, who has picked up an injury.

Johnson has made 11 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, scoring a goal and earning a solid 7.16 average match rating from WhoScored.com. He's been one of the steadier options in the back for Liverpool and is one of the more experienced players on the club, so his absence will certainly be felt if his injury is a serious one.
