Modified 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

This 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic gray leather and is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The car has been modified with a stainless steel exhaust system, exhaust headers, aftermarket fuel injectors, an aftermarket supercharger pulley, custom intake piping, a revised intercooler system, aftermarket engine and transmission control software, carbon-fiber exterior trim, 20″ RSR wheels, and custom headlamps. Factory equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop, a panoramic glass roof, bi-xenon headlights, Keyless Go, heated and ventilated seats, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. The seller purchased the car in 2019 and has since added approximately 3,300 of the 29k miles. This R230 is now offered with a car cover and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic and features a power-folding convertible hardtop, a panoramic glass roof, and AMG bodywork. The car has been fitted with an SL63-style single-fin front grille, carbon-fiber SL63-style rear spoiler, carbon-fiber rear diffuser, SL63-style clear third brake light, carbon-fiber mirror covers, custom-painted headlights with clear lenses, Osram HID/Xenon headlight bulbs, and clear front side markers. The headlamp washer nozzles and trunk struts were reportedly replaced in 2018.

Black 20″ RSR wheels measure 9″ and 10.5″ wide and are mounted with 275/30 front and 305/25 rear Toyo T1 Sport tires. The car features Active Body Control (ABC) suspension as well as an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and an AMG High-Performance Braking System. The brake calipers are powder-coated red, and service in 2018 included installing Porterfield brake pads, Brembo rotors, and suspension lowering links, rebuilding the ABC suspension valve block, flushing the brake fluid, and replacing the front lower ball joints, upper ball joints, and tie rod end links.

The heated, ventilated, and massaging multi-contour seats are upholstered in gray leather, and interior amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Keyless Go, a Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. The interior trim has been hydro-dipped in a simulated carbon-fiber pattern, and a Clarion audio equalizer, Audioengine HiFi Bluetooth adapter, and device charging cables have been added.

Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 29k miles, approximately 3,300 of which were added under current ownership. The headlamp warning light is illuminated.

The supercharged 5.4-liter M113 V8 has reportedly been modified with the following:

Service in 2018 reportedly included replacing the MAP sensor, intake air temperature sensor, supercharger belt, serpentine belt, fuel filter, engine mounts, valve cover gaskets, air filters, spark plugs, and upstream oxygen sensors. The oil was changed in January 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission that is reportedly controlled by Eurocharged TCU software. The transmission mount was reportedly changed in 2018.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
