Princess Victoria Louise Oriental Poppy

Papaver orientale 'Princess Victoria Louise'

Plant Details:

Plant Type: Perennial
Plant Family: Papaveraceae
Plant Description: This clump forming herbaceous perennial blooms with large, graceful, soft pink flowers with dark purple/black centers. It blooms in late-spring to mid-summer. Light green, often hairy leaves are dissected into lance-shaped segments. After flowering the leaves will go dormant but appear again in the fall. Place next to plants that will fill in the gaps left during dormancy.

Maintenance:

Maintenance Type: Perennial - Herbaceous
Plant Care: Perennial - Herbaceous (soft-stemmed plants that die back in winter and regrow in spring): Remove spent blooms to promote rebloom later. Some plants tend to flop over after the first bloom and attempt to regrow from the base; in these cases, the old stems can be cut away in summer. As plants become dormant in the fall, remove dead leaves and stems.
