The Twilight saga was a phenomenon hard to beat that quickly brought Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to fame, but now, 10 years after the release of the last movie, the franchise is preparing its expected return.
This has generated many rumors, especially regarding the actors who will be part of the new cast, and undoubtedly the characters of Bella and Edward are the biggest concern of fans. It is for that reason, that Catherine Hardwicke, director of Twilight, recently revealed that, from her point of view, the perfect actors to play the leading couple should be Jenna Ortega and Jacob Elordi.
In an interview for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hardwicke highlighted that both actors are extremely talented, so, if she had to choose, without hesitation they would be her first choice. The filmmaker confessed to having closely followed the work of the two young actors, which is why she praised Elordi’s performance in Saltburn and Jenna Ortega’s in Netflix’s hit series Wednesday
The comments unleashed in social networks an endless number of opinions, between those who agree and those who, on the contrary, consider that Jenna and Jacob should not be the chosen ones. And be honest, returning to the Twilight universe without Kristen and Robert is still something that causes us a little sadness, but at the same time, the launch of the new series could be the perfect opportunity to bring to television all those details of the books that the movies overlooked.

What Do We Know About the New Twilight Series?
The Twilight saga will return with an all-new cast in a series produced by Lionsgate Television. The project is in an early stage of production, so there are not many details about it so far, but it is known that the screenwriter will be Sinead Daly, who has been in charge of series like The Walking Dead: World Beyond and The Get Down.
Stephenie Meyer, the author of the books, is also expected to be part of the project as executive producer, as well as Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig, former co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group since he was in charge of buying the film rights for the production company Summit Entertainment.
As for the release date, we still have nothing concrete, so we will have to wait a little longer to know when this new and risky production will see the light.
