Floor Jansen
Floor Jansen (born February 21, 1981) is the lead singer of the symphonic metal band Nightwish.
Her musical career began in 1997 as the lead singer of the symphonic metal band After Forever. The band disbanded in 2009. Her subsequent project, ReVamp, was dissolved after Floor's inclusion in Nightwish.
Her unique vocal prowess brought her attention beyond the metal genre, earning her the title of "Metal Goddess" in the scene. After her participation in "Beste Zangers" in 2019, the Dutch version of "Sing meinen Song," Floor embarked on a solo career in her homeland. In the spring of 2022, Floor enjoyed great success in the German edition of the show on VOX.
Shock Diagnosis: Breast Cancer
In October 2022, Floor received a shock diagnosis of breast cancer during a routine examination. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, followed by radiation therapy in January 2023 to prevent cancer from spreading. Floor is currently considered cancer-free and managed to participate in Nightwish's Human. :||: Nature. European tour as well as her own solo tour following the release of her debut solo album "Paragon," which commenced just a few weeks after her surgery.
Due to a bout of weakness, the last two planned Nightwish shows had to be canceled.
