Amazon has ordered four 13-episode seasons of the Thunderbirds Are Go, the reinvention of the 50-year-old classic Thunderbirds. Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) stars as the voice of Lady Penelope. The first 26 episodes of the new series aired on ITV in the UK in 2015 and early 2016. Amazon will launch the series in the U.S., with Prime Video in the UK streaming it afterwards under a second-window rights deal. Season 3 and Season 4 are also due to premiere on ITV later this year.
The new series, using a mix of CGI and live-action model sets, catapults the five valiant Tracy brothers — Scott, John, Virgil, Gordon and Alan — back into action, piloting their vehicles from Tracy Island to complete rescue missions across the globe. The voice cast also includes Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Rasmus Hardiker.
Thunderbirds Are Go is produced by ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures in collaboration with Weta Workshop.
