(WJW) – Singer Lily Allen is sharing her truth about being a mom.

While talking to the hosts on the Radio Times Podcast, she said that no one can really have it all.

“I love them, and they complete me, but in terms of pop stardom, totally ruined it,” she said about her kids.

The singer shares two daughters with her ex-husband.

“It really annoys me when people say you can have it all because, quite frankly, you can’t,” Allen said on the podcast.

“Some people choose their career over their children, and that’s their prerogative. But my parents were quite absent when I was a kid, and I feel like that really left some nasty scars that I’m not willing to, you know, repeat on mine,” she added.

“So, I chose stepping back and concentrating on them and I’m glad that I have done that because I think they’re pretty well-rounded people,” she continued. “Fingers [expletive] crossed.”

The singer shot to fame in 2006 with the release of her single “Smile.”

She launches a new podcast this week, called “Miss Me?

The singer has also appeared in movies and tv series and is most recently performing on the stage in the famous West End.
