Virginia guard Joe Harris isn’t ashamed to admit he LOVES Katy Perry.
“She’s the best. I went to her movie when it came out two years ago,” Harris, a leader of the 16th-ranked Cavaliers men’s basketball team, told USA TODAY Sports earlier this week.
Welp, this is about as perfectly awesome as Rick Pitino loving Pitbull’s music.
Harris’ teammate and best friend, Akil Mitchell, broke the news — saying, “He blasts that stuff in the car all the time. It’s his favorite and it’s funny because Joe is such a quiet guy. He’s just a weird individual, man. …At the end of the day though, that’s my brother. We have a relationship that’ll last for the rest of our lives.”
Harris lists Roar and Darkhorse among his favorite Katy Perry tracks. And those songs might be fitting for Virginia come March when the NCAA tournament tips off. Until then, the Cavaliers are Wide Awake as they try to avoid a Hot n Cold finish in ACC action.
