David Bowie was an icon in every sense of the word. In addition to creating one genre-defining sound after another, he was equally prolific with his visual style, and had a profound effect on art, fashion, and culture. With this piece I wanted to honor his signature look from the Serious Moonlight tour, a style that defined an era as much as the instant classics on "Let’s Dance”. -John Vogl

Lets Dance is a definitive record of the 1980s, and sent Bowie out on an eight-month 'Serious Moonlight' concert tour encompassing ninety-six shows that touched sixteen countries. The tour was a high point of commercial success for Bowie, who found his new popularity perplexing. Bowie would later remark that with the success of Let’s Dance and the 'Serious Moonlight' Tour, “I tried passionately hard in the first part of the ’80s to fit in, and I had my first overground success,” Bowie told Interview in 1995. “I was suddenly no longer ‘the world’s biggest cult artist’ in popular music.”
