Real Dreams

“Now you can understand me. We camped between the bushes of our heads waiting to fall asleep, to go out and find ourselves in shared dreams. Like someone who tunes in to his favorite station on the radio, let your unconscious negotiate the stage with mine. Unlimited architects of the ephemeral. An imaginary delta between your sea and my river.”

These are the verses accompanying the photograph entitled Multiplayer Dream by Ibai Acevedo, and which actually seem to have been written especially for each of his “real dreams” — on which his portfolio, according to him, is based.

Born in Barcelona, in 1984, Ibai would have loved to be able to say that at the age of eight they gave him his first camera, “but no! At that time I played with dolls in the bathtub.” Today he is a photographer and graphic designer who found a language that saves him more than a thousand words for each image created.

“And if you cover your eyes forcing me to choose among the thousand, I will surely say that I am piloting a gimmicky style halfway between reality and fiction. My means are justified at last. It doesn’t matter to lie or tell the truth, the important thing is to transmit.”
