Two more players quit Brazilian National Team: Thaisa & Brait

While Volleyball Nations League and World Cup are coming up, a worrying news breaks out recently for team Brazil that middle blocker Thaísa Menezes and libero Camila Brait announced departure from the team.

The two time Olympic champion middle blocker, Thaisa who has recently achieved 1000 kill blocks in the national league had a conversation with the head coach of national team, Roberto Guimarães regarding her decision to quit the national team basically because she would like to take a break mentally and physically. She revealed that after her serious knee injury years ago, her knee condition has been deteriorating gradually and she is unsure about whether she would be able to play for the country at top level, not to mention that the intense training for the national team will add extra burden to her knee. Nevertheless, she has made it clear that she would resume her volleyball career at club level and is ready for preseason training.

Camila Brait who is to replace the most remarkable Brazilian libero of all time Fabi also talked to Roberto recently about her determination of giving priority to family over career. She was grateful for the opportunity given to her which is a great acknowledgment and trust in her performance. However, Brait has not made a clear cut from playing for the national team that she admitted she will think calmly again as the door is still open for her which is a great honor for herself.
