Mark Sanchez's next stop? Covering the rebooted USFL

The United States Football League is back, and Mark Sanchez is coming along for the ride.

The former Jets quarterback will contribute to Fox Sports’ coverage of the rebooted league as an analyst. Sanchez started broadcasting in 2019 following an eight-year playing career that included four seasons in New York. He has also spent time with ESPN.

Sanchez will be joined by play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler when calling USFL games. The two worked together during the 2021 NFL season.

The new USFL kicks things off on Saturday. There is no legal connection to the original league of the 1980s, though some of the team names are the same. This incarnation will play a 10-game season entirely in Birmingham, Alabama before four playoff teams square off at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
