MEET Filipe F. Franca, Esq.
Attorney
Attorney Filipe F. Franca graduated from Florida State University in May of 2014, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and International Affairs. During this time, Fil was a member of not only the University’s Honors Program but was also selected to participate in FSU’s Political Science Research Intensive Bachelor’s Certificate Program. In the spring of 2018, Fil obtained his Juris Doctorate from The Florida State University College of Law and became a member of The Florida Bar Association in October of that same year.
While attending law school, Fil worked as an Investigative Research Assistant at the Florida Office of the Attorney General – Economic Crimes division before gaining further invaluable experience as a Certified Legal Intern with the 2nd Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Leon County, Florida. Upon receiving his law license, Fil first put his skills to practice as an Assistant Public Defender at the 9th Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s office in Orange County, Florida before transitioning to work as an Associate Attorney with Krapf Legal in August of 2020.
Joining us in February of 2023, Fil now finds himself as an integral part of the J.P. Ward & Associates team. After proudly serving the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for years, the firm is broadening its practice area to the people of Florida and could not be more exited to have Fil and his wealth of knowledge by our side. An aspiring international human rights attorney, Fil’s primary focus will be supporting our growing Debt Defense practice while assisting in other areas of consumer protection law such as debt litigation, the Appeals process, credit reporting and unfair trade practices.
A seasonal volunteer as a Community Donations Associate at Metropolitan Ministries in the Tampa Bay Area, Fil has assisted hundreds of businesses and organizations in securing and administering holiday food and toy drives in order to serve over 34,500 homeless and at-risk families. When not helping others, Fil can most likely be found learning another language. If being fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese wasn’t already impressive enough, he has also obtained a basic, foundational knowledge of German and is currently in the process of learning French.
