Cast as Soldier Boy, the original superhero, Ackles' character served in World War II and after, would go on to become a fixture in American contemporary culture.

Kripke commented, “Jensen is an amazing actor, an even better person, smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the very first Superhero, he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of Supernatural to The Boys.”

Season two of The Boys begins streaming on Amazon Prime on September 4th, with the first three episodes made available. The remaining episodes will be released weekly through October 9th finale.

Season two finds Hughie (Jack Quid), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara)— on the run. Vought continues to stoke the fears of superheroes as a national threat after Homelander sent the Compound V to terrorist cells.

The hotly-anticipated second season will also feature an accompanying mini-movie focusing on Billy Butcher, played by Karl Urban. The plot will focus on his character offscreen and will be released sometime during the weekly rollout of the second season.
