Recording Load

Metallica's sixth studio album, Load, was recorded at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, California, May 1, 1995 through February 1, 1996. Kirk Hammett told Guitar World, "In the time between albums, we watched all this shit fly by and wondered, 'How does Metallica fit into this?' And then we realized that we didn't fit into it at all, never have, and never really will."​
