Liv Tyler shows off 25-step beauty routine

Liv Tyler may be a natural beauty, but it takes a lot of work — 25 steps, in fact — for her to get glowing.

In a new beauty routine video for Vogue, the 42-year-old “Lord of the Rings” actress walks viewers through her everyday regimen, which starts with her getting her signature long, dark waves out of the way. But Tyler doesn’t just use any old hair tie to tie her locks back — rather, she reaches for a high-end scrunchie fashioned out of Hermès silk.

Next, the star cleanses with both Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse ($75) and Chidoriya Hydrating Facial Soap ($16.99) before moving on to her Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask ($42) for exfoliating. While applying the Smurf-colored treatment, Tyler shared that she likely inherited her love of pampering products from her famous father, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

“My dad is so into skin care; when I go visit him, I usually spend half the time in the bathroom with him, just going over products,” she said. “He’s got his whole bathroom filled. But if you look at him, he’s turned 70 and he has the most beautiful skin, and it’s because he takes really good care of it.”

After extolling the virtues of drinking green juice, Tyler applied her Dr. Barbara Sturm Deep Hydrating Mask ($160) and swallowed a dropper full of her CBD treatment of choice: Lord Jones Royal Oil ($100), which she swears “doesn’t make you feel stoned at all.”

“I know everybody’s talking about CBD oil … and I definitely suffer from anxiety,” the “Armageddon” star shared. “I get really nervous. I guess my job’s kinda scary and it’s hard not to be nervous sometimes, [with] public speaking and doing anything that’s out of your comfort zone.”

After that, it’s time for Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum ($300) and a few moments with her Sarah Chapman Skinesis Facialift ($38), a massaging tool Tyler said “looks very weird” but is meant to help contour your chin and neck area.

Once done, she applies Talika Eye Therapy Patches ($49), a few drops of Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Face Oil ($170) and some Avène Rich Compensating Cream ($35), and spritzes herself with Sisley-Paris Floral Spray Mist ($100).

“My secret obsession, the passion of my whole life has been skin care,” Tyler said. “I think I would’ve become a facialist if I didn’t start acting.”

Finally, the star moves on to makeup, starting with Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow Drops ($135) and By Terry Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream ($87) applied with a Beautyblender ($20). Then, it’s time for Glossier Haloscope Highlighter ($22), Rodial Diamond Liquid Concealer ($45) and a dusting of MAC Powder Blush ($25).

But the “Harlots” actress isn’t done yet. She applies two products by Givenchy — Prisme Visage Perfecting Face Powder ($49) and Le Rouge Perfecto Beatifying Lip Balm ($37) — before grooming her arches with Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Brow Pencil ($26) and Glossier Boy Brow ($16).

After that, it’s on to a slick of Decorté Eye Glow Gem Glossy Eye Color ($27) and Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara ($19.50) and, for lips, a blend of Rodin + Vanessa Traina Collection Luxury Lip & Cheek Oil ($35) and Glossier Generation G ($18) before a final dusting of Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo ($68).

“That’s my natural everyday makeup look where I’m trying to look like I have no makeup on, but I do have makeup on,” Tyler concluded.

At a total of $1,715.49, that’s one heck of a beauty routine.
