Rupert Grint saw ‘sparks’ between Emma Watson and Tom Felton on ‘Harry Potter’

Malfoy and Hermione, forever?

Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the “Harry Potter” franchise, said recently that there were “sparks” between his former co-stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton during their years on set together.

“There was always something,” the 31-year-old actor told “Entertainment Tonight.” “There was a little bit of a spark.”

He added, stating he didn’t want to start any rumors, “But we were kids. It was like any kind of playground romance … I didn’t have any sparks. I was spark-free.”

Most of the young cast grew up together on the set over a decade and eight films together. Watson, 29, and Felton, 32, remained friends over the years.

In August, Felton posted a photo of himself and Watson wearing pajamas as he taught her to play guitar. “Quick learner x,” he captioned the snap.

In an interview released earlier this month with British Vogue, Watson confirmed she is happy being single.

“I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel. I was like, ‘This is totally spiel.’ It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered,” she said.

When asked about her comments, Felton praised Watson, telling Daily Mail, “I like it! It’s the first I’ve heard of it, but it’s great. I’m in the same category to be honest with you, quite happily self-partnered.”
