Charlie Sheen reveals where he stands with ex-wife Denise Richards after heated breakup: ‘We went through so much s–t’

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are on good terms nearly 18 years after their rocky divorce.

“We’re absolutely friendly,” Sheen told People in an interview published Wednesday.

“We went through so much s–t together that I don’t think either one of us has any energy left to be divisive,” he explained.

The “Two and a Half Men” alum, 58, said that they are prioritizing their two daughters: Sami, 19, and Lola, 18.

“The only thing that matters is the kids,” Sheen continued. “We knew we had to park our nonsense and focus on the children, because they had nothing to do with any of our crud.”

Sheen added that as time went on, the pair were able to find common ground and even turn to humor to get along.

“Even in the hottest portions of depths of the inferno, we were still able to maintain a perspective that yes, the children need to come first,” he said. “Now we’re super friendly, and we’re actually able to process so much of it through humor these days.”

Sheen and the “Wild Things” actress, 52, got married in 2002 after dating for two years. However, things spiraled for Sheen as he battled with alcohol and drug addiction.

Richards went on to file for divorce in 2005 during her pregnancy with Lola, further seeking a restraining order against him after claiming he made death threats against her. The duo divorced a year later.

The former Bond girl adopted her 12-year-old daughter, Eloise, in 2011 and married Aaron Phypers in 2019. That year, Phypers adopted Eloise as his own.

Meanwhile, Sheen married Brooke Mueller in 2008 and together they welcomed 14-year-old twins Max and Bob.

The “Platoon” star and Mueller, 46, divorced in 2011 — the same year he was fired by “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre, in 2011.

This week, Sheen insinuated that Mueller is now uninvolved in parenting their boys.

“I’ve mostly been raising my 14-year-old boys,” he told People in an interview published Monday.

“Their mom has been trying to figure some stuff out on her end, so she’s not in the picture too much right now.”

A spokesperson for Mueller declined Page Six’s request for comment on Sheen’s claims.

Due to Sheen and Mueller’s past addiction struggles, Richards was granted custody of Max and Bob before the kids went back to living with their mom.

Mueller has stayed relatively off the radar since voluntarily checking into rehab in 2019.

Sheen has also gotten clean and revealed this month that he will be six years sober in January.

“I was like, ‘I’m going to give it a month, just see if I feel any better, and if my interactions with those that are closest to me improve,” Sheen told People of his sobriety. “And they did. And I’m like, ‘All right. I’m going to go another month.’”

Sheen also noted that he has a “very consistent lifestyle now.”

“It’s all about single dad stuff, and raising my 14-year-old twin boys Max and Bob,” he said.

Sheen has also buried the hatchet with Lorre after 12 years of feuding and they are collaborating on the TV director’s new Max comedy series, “How to Be a Bookie.”
