Abstract

An investigation of leaf epidermal morphology in the genus Boerhaavia was conducted, using light microscope, in order to evaluate and establish their reliability as taxonomic markers.

B. coccinea stands out distinctly among the Boerhaavia species investigated in its acquisition of paracytic stomatal arrangement while B. erecta and B. diffusa have anomocytic and dicytic types of stomata.
