Acourtia microcephala

Wildflowers Dicots Eudicots Asterids Asterales Asteraceae Nassauvieae Acourtia

Sacapelote. Formerly Perezia microcephala.

Seen blooming on Cold Spring trail (just above the powerlines) in June 2010. Also seen on Blue Canyon trail trail in July 2010.

Tall herbaceous plants which end in a spray of flowers at the top. To my mind, an extremely unconventional member of the aster family.

This plant was identified for me by Jarad K.

I’m pretty sure that’s Sacapelote (Acourtia microcephala) [Perezia microcephala]
