5 Photos of the Gorgeous Crystal Renn in Australia That We Simply Can’t Get Over

The author and model blew us away in the coastal city of Sydney.

Crystal Renn was photographed by Walter Iooss Jr. in Sydney, Australia.

Crystal Renn is much more than just a model. Though she is that—and she does her job very well—she’s also a published author.

Renn began modeling at just 14-years-old, after being scouted in her native Mississippi. Her career took her down runways for the likes of Chanel and Zac Posen, and it led her to the sets of various brand campaigns, for companies such as Jimmy Choo and Dolce & Gabbana. It’s also a pursuit that led her to the set of the 2012 SI Swimsuit Issue, when she posed in Sydney, Australia, for photographer Walter Iooss Jr.

Needless to say, Renn made a name for herself in her chosen field. But she also found hardship in the modeling industry. Prior to her SI Swimsuit debut, in 2009, the model released a book entitled Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves.

It documented her experience as a model, and the pressures that came with her job, focusing on her struggles with body image. At the time, starting these sorts of conversations made her somewhat of a trailblazer in the industry.

A few years after its release, Renn came to the SI Swimsuit set and proved yet again her impressive skills in front of a lens. Here are a few of the fantastic photos that the 37-year-old posed for on the coast of Australia, while clad in a number of beautiful red-and-white bikinis.
