Dr. Yanine Velasquez, M.D.

Dr. Yanine Velasquez grew up in Queens, New York, the daughter of Cuban and Colombian immigrants. She went to Fordham University Lincoln Center where she majored in English Literature with a minor in Spanish Literature and graduated in 2009. She completed a semester abroad in Spain at the University of Granada, one of the most beautiful and historic cities in Andalucía.

After several years working as an SAT and ACT tutor in New York City, she went to Hunter College from 2009 to 2012 to complete pre-requisites for podiatry school. She then attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine from 2013 to 2017. During her time at podiatry school, she was involved in numerous volunteer events to provide foot care to New Yorkers in underserved areas.
Dr. Velasquez started her residency training in 2017 at New York Community Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, a vibrant and diverse neighborhood. She then transferred to the Orlando VA Medical Center in Orlando, FL where she had the opportunity to provide care to veterans with a variety of complex foot pathology. She also completed part of her training at Osceola Regional Medical Center, a level-2 trauma center.

She has been practicing in the Fort Myers area for the past two years. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family, including her two cats Mark and Jeremy. Dr. Velasquez is eager to assist our patients in staying on their feet so that they can enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.
