Emma Stone is an American actor. Born in Scottsdale, Ariz., Stone began pursuing a career in entertainment at a young age, moving with her mother to Los Angeles to audition for parts as a child actor. In 2007, she made her feature film debut as the romantic interest of Jonah Hill’s lead in the raunchy comedy ”Superbad,” directed by Greg Mottola. Her standout supporting turn led to a line of comedic roles in titles such as “The House Bunny ” and “Zombieland,” culminating with her highly praised lead performance in the sex scandal high school comedy “Easy A” in 2010. After next co-starring as Gwen Stacy in the two “Amazing Spider-Man” entries, Stone began to appear in films by acclaimed directors like Woody Allen and Cameron Crowe. She received her first Oscar nomination for her supporting turn in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 2014 best picture winner “Birdman”; two years later, Stone won the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in Damien Chazelle’s musical “La La Land.” Since then, Stone has continued to draw acclaim, with notable credits including Yorgos Lanthimos’ “The Favourite” and “Poor Things,” as well as the Disney live-action reimagining “Cruella.” She has also ventured into television, with leading turns on Netflix’s psychological thriller miniseries “Maniac” and a role alongside Nathan Fielder on Showtime’s dark comedy “The Curse.” In 2020, Stone married “Saturday Night Live” segment director Dave McCary.
