In the season of overspending, we tend to splurge more, because it's the holidays. But are you ready to splurge on a $99 cocktail?

Article 14 has claimed the title for the most expensive cocktail in the city, the "Barrel of Jewels." It's a concoction of Louis XIII Cognac, Lock Stock & Barrel straight rye whiskey, Carpano Antica Formula vermouth, St-Germain and bitters, all served in a crystal whiskey glass.

Sound pricey? Consider the spirits.

Louis XIII Cognac is most likely the culprit here. The Cognac is produced in France, and blended with 1,200 eaux de vie for anywhere between 40 to 100 years. Then the Cognac, from Grande Champagne grapes, are aged in barrels that are several hundred years old.

Stock & Barrel straight rye whiskey is aged 13 years in new American charred oak barrels. With 101.3 proof and 100 percent rye whiskey from double pot stills, it earns the price of a Benjamin.

Oh and that crystal glass, it's not a keepsake.
