If this was a year of quiet luxury, 2024 is going to turn up the volume in a big way — at least according to Blake Lively, who decided to make “loud luxury” a thing in the final weeks of 2023. The key ingredient? A bright, vivid Barbiecore lipstick to match her pink-on-pink-on-pink ensemble.

Lively presented a compelling case for loud luxury on Instagram, sharing a carousel of photos with her signature beachy, honey-blonde hair styled in glamorously undone curls over one shoulder and down her back. (Jennifer Yepez crafted said curls.) In true Lively fashion, the hair is thick, luscious, and gorgeous, but shockingly it's not the star of her look — that honor goes to the lipstick! While she does occasionally opt for something outside her comfort zone, Lively typically sticks to rosy nude shades on her lips. Not so for this night out, however. She was ready to get loud and what better time to do it up than the holiday season?

Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez gave the star what she called a “human filter," makeup-wise, and Lively was a huge fan of the lipstick in particular. “I was in for a rude awakening when I washed it off and saw my real face,” the actor wrote on Instagram Stories. “Now please teach me how to make my lips look this big and juicy.”

While there are a plethora of hot pink lipsticks on the market, especially in our post-Barbie movie world, In another snap from her gallery, you can see a tube of Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm in shade 163 Showstopping Rose nestled near her accessories; the popular formula gives you a vibrant color with a balm-like, conditioning finish and feel. For a similar look, try Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Promise, a true bright pink with a hint of shine; or MAC's Amplified Lipstick in Do Not Disturb. If you can't live without a matte finish, we love Rare Beauty's Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in Ascend, a bright fuchsia. TBH, loud luxury looks like a lot of fun. I'm in!
