Celebrating your birthday during a pandemic is probably not on anyone's bucket list, but people have been making it work in any way that they can. The earlier months of the pandemic saw Zoom birthday party after Zoom birthday party, and now, with restrictions lifted in many cities, more people have been able to enjoy their day with friends and family in person. But not everyone has rushed to the nearest bar or restaurant. Some have taken a more chill route, like Kristen Bell, who is celebrating in style and comfort from her bed with nothing on her face but pimple cream.

To welcome her 40th birthday, the actor posted a makeup-free selfie to Instagram on July 19, just a day after her official birthday, with the caption, "Goodmorning 40! 💜💜💜#stillusingpimplecream." Bell looks relaxed and radiant while lying in her bed wearing a red sweatshirt.

Bell's signature blonde hair lays around her head, and we can see that her brown roots have relatably grown in quite a bit. The closest thing to makeup she has on is that aforementioned hint of pimple cream on the bridge of her nose. (Let us know how effective it is, Kristen!) We need all the details on her skin-care routine and treatments ASAP to know the secret to her glow.

While she may have been in bed for her birthday, just a day earlier, she shared photos from a recent to Sedona, Arizona with her husband and children. The star was full of smiles and surrounded by friends just in time for her 40th, and we hope it was everything and more.
