Velez Sarsfield and Uruguay player Diego Godin, was one of the Uruguay players involved in one of the country's worst World Cups in recently history. The footballer complained about refereeing decisions and was exposed to a suspension from FIFA. After this, the player reiterated his stance in a press conference.
"I've seen the matches on TV and I do not regret it, I would have protested even more. Now we'll see what is decided. You're always worried you could be punished," the Uruguayan defender said.
Godin explained his version of events: "It caught my attention when my name appeared, but it is a result of protests, frustration and anger from what we had seen. We felt that decisions went against us in clear situations."
The defender seemed quiet concerned by Gimenez's situation: "I hope that he especially, given that he is the youngest, does not get as many games and that he gets as few as possible."
