When a Beyoncé fan couldn’t decide which song they wanted to use for their first dance on their wedding day, they decided to ask the Grammy winning-artist herself. The fan, the user behind TikTok account @lo0261, was debating between Beyoncé’s “XO” and “1+1,” so they wrote each love song on a sign and presented it to the singer in the crowd at her Renaissance World Tour concert in Nashville on July 15, 2023. The fan documented the entire moment on TikTok, which has gone viral with 1.7 million views, 245,400 likes, 12,900 saves, 1,269 comments, and 1,055 shares.

The video begins with Beyoncé singing “Crazy in Love” while dressed in a sparkly metallic ensemble on stage. “The moment Beyoncé sees our signs…and picks our wedding songs,” the fan wrote on the screen of the video. When the artist spots the sign, Beyoncé looks at them and says “1+1” before finishing the performance, complete with choreography. In the caption, the fan expressed, “Don’t mind us when we completely lost our minds and club renny was celebrating with us. I haven’t recovered from this moment. Thank you @Beyoncé for a night we will never forget.”

On the first clip, another TikTok user commented, “Can we see the sign?” So, in a follow-up video, the fan showcased the sign they made, which says “Pick our wedding song…” with boxes next to “XO” and “1+1.” “We just have to put the check mark,” the user wrote along with the footage.

This isn’t the first time fans have interacted with performers at a concert to help them celebrate wedding-related moments. In March 2023, Lizzo was singing at a sold-out concert in Glasgow, Scotland when she noticed a message on one of her concert-goer’s phones that read, “Ask my brother’s boyfriend to marry him,” according to The Independent. It turns out that Grant, a fan in the crowd, was going to propose to his boyfriend, Ryan, who tuned into the show via FaceTime. Then, Lizzo was handed the phone with the FaceTime call running, and through the screen, Ryan expressed to the “About Damn Time” artist that the concert had been “amazing” so far. Lizzo responded by calling him “the chillest person in the world.”

The two of them exchanged a few more remarks before Lizzo told Ryan that his boyfriend, Grant, had a question for him. She handed the microphone to Grant who said, “Ryan, for the purposes that Lizzo is in front of us, will you marry me?” The audience broke out into an applause, but Lizzo was impatiently waiting for the response. “What do you say?” she asked. Ryan appeared to be speechless but gave a nod. The stadium erupted into more cheers, but Lizzo wasn’t satisfied with the answer and said she needed verbal confirmation. It was too loud in the arena to hear what Ryan had to say, so Lizzo declared that he was “too stunned to speak.” The singer congratulated the couple and returned the phone to Grant, who was crying happy tears.
