‘Ride into History’ with Amelia Earhart

Ann Birney, as famed aviator Amelia Earhart, a native of Atchison who disappeared July 2, 1937 (three weeks before her 40th birthday), appears at 2 p.m. April 2 at the Winfield Public Library in conjunction with the ongoing “Discover NASA” exhibit.

Famed aviator Amelia Earhart — in the person of re-enactor Ann Birney — will talk about her thrilling and historic flights at 2 p.m. April 2 at the Winfield Public Library.

Scholar/performer Birney, of “Ride into History,” will take the audience back to 1937, just before Earhart’s disappearance over the Pacific Ocean. Birney’s performance, free to the public, is part of the “Discover NASA” exhibit programs at the Winfield Public Library.
