Dylan Lauren has revealed that she chose to use a surrogate to ‘start her family’ with husband Paul Arrouet because she was busy expanding her candy store to new locations across the globe
The 41-year-old daughter of fashion icons Ralph and Ricky Lauren welcomed fraternal twins Cooper Blue and daughter Kingsley Rainbow four months ago with husband Paul, 44. And, in a recent interview with Cricket's Circle, she explained why she thought the decision to have the little boy and girl via surrogate was 'a wonderful option'.
'We chose to use a surrogate as the way we wanted to start our family, particularly as I was traveling across the globe on a stressful schedule to get stores open,' she said.

'I have many friends who had kids solo, who adopted, who used surrogates – no one was judging them – it’s a new world!'
Dylan, who is the founder and CEO of candy store chain Dylan's Candy Bar, has already begun giving her little ones nicknames based on her favorite sugary treats, including 'Twinkies,' 'M&M’s' and the 'Doublemint Twins'.
She also opened up to the publication about bringing the children home to meet her 'first child': her rescue dog Jersey.
'We were a little nervous about how she would react to the twins coming home, so at first we had her smell their clothes,’ she said in the interview. ‘And when people come by and bring the twins gifts, they bring one for her, too!’

Mixed feelings: Jersey has been 'a little jealous but also protective of' the twins
She added: 'She’s been OK – a little jealous but also protective of them. They say dogs have the mind of a 3-year-old, so it’ll be fun to see what it’s like when they’re all that age!'
The twins, who are the first grandchildren for Dylan's father, designer Ralph Lauren, came into the world on April 13, with both Dylan and Paul in the delivery room for the birth.
A spokesperson for the couple told People after the birth that 'her parents, fashion icons Ralph and Ricky Lauren, are overjoyed to welcome their first grandchildren and witness their daughter usher in the next generation'.
'My parents are definitely very excited about their first grandchildren and that there are two – a girl and boy! – so they can each take one,' she told Cricket's Circle. 'And of course, the Twinkies are already wearing a lot of my dad’s stuff.'
