Bottoms up! Luxury $6,000 per night Fijian resort is the new go-to place for Instagrammers who are flying in to take playful 'BELFIES' of their derrieres pushed up against the glass pool wall

  • Fiji's Laucala Island resort has become a go-to place for Instagrammers
  • But instead of taking snaps of the scenery, they're taking cheeky 'belfies'
  • Many guests of the resort have taken playful 'butt selfies' in the infinity pool
  • Others posed for romantic snaps or candid photos in front of the glass pool
  • The $6,000 per night holiday destination is a favourite of countless celebrities

Surrounded by turquoise waters and laced with sandy beaches and rainforests, Fiji's idyllic Laucala Island is the perfect getaway for travellers looking to add a touch of luxury to their vacation.

But despite the picturesque $6,000 per night resort and its surroundings, the island has recently become the home of a more unconventional Instagram trend.

Among their adventures at the exclusive tropical hideaway, many guests are making time to pose for a 'belfie' (aka, 'butt selfie') against the glass of the iconic infinity-edge pool.

Guests of the resort, which was home to Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel on their honeymoon, have been taking to Instagram with their playful selfies over the past few months.

The trend was likely started by model Amanda Wellsh, who shared a snap of her behind pressed up against the glass in a candid shot while holidaying on the island.

'It's another picture of my behind #sorrynotsorry,' one woman wrote alongside her own version of the snap.

Another trio gave the trend a cheeky twist by stripping off for their belfie snap following a friend's wedding.

Not everyone followed the trend however, with others posing for romantic photos with partners or simply smiling for the snap and enjoying their holiday in paradise.
