EXCLUSIVE: Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O'Connell reveal secret to their successful 15-year marriage: 'Have teenage children and then they become a problem!'
Rebecca Romijn and her husband Jerry O'Connell have revealed the secrets behind keeping the spark alive in their 15-year long marriage.
Speaking exclusively with DailyMail.com at the Vanderpump Dog Gala, the fun-loving couple said the trick was to keep things 'light' - and also joked having teenage children discouraged them from splitting up.
Rebecca, 50, and Jerry, 49, tied the knot in 2007 and share 14-year-old twin daughters Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose.
'Have teenage children and then they become a problem,' Jerry joked.
'So you sneak out together!' Rebecca chimed in.

'You also become too afraid to split up because one of us might get full custody and we're frightened of that so we try to stay together,' Jerry said.
Rebecca said their ability to lighten up and find humor in things was a key ingredient in their successful marriage.
'I guess we just keep on laughing,' Rebecca said. 'Keep it light. You have to lighten up about everything. You have to be able to move on quickly.'
For Jerry, he tries to avoid conflict.
'If there's an argument brewing, I try not to engage. I try to distance myself,' he said.
'You're not very good at that,' Rebecca said. 'Jerry's not very good at that.'
Jerry insisted: 'I'm very good at that! I disengage!'
'Not always!' Rebecca said.

'I run out of the house, I get out of there!' he said. 'I run out! If I think a fight is happening, I run! My wife is also a Scorpio. It's a different situation.'
Rebecca and Jerry began dating in 2004, shortly after her split from first husband John Stamos.
Their divorce was finalized the following year, and in 2007 she tied the knot with Jerry before welcoming their twin girls in 2008.
The couple first met at a Maxim Hot 100 pool party in Las Vegas. At the time, Rebecca was there with a date.
Recounting their first meeting on The Rachael Ray Show, Jerry said: 'Rebecca was in the VIP section, I was not. I waved my arms until I caught her attention and then grabbed her and said, "I'm with her, I'm with her."'

'It was a little more complicated,' Rebecca added. 'I was there with my best friend and I had a date that weekend. My friend gave Jerry my number and said "Call her" and he goes, "She's here with a date!" And my friend goes, "I hate that guy."'
'We've been pretty inseparable ever since,' Jerry said.
The adorable couple have been going strong since their early start in 2005, and have never shied away from displaying their affection for one another.
In honor of their 15th wedding anniversary, they shared gushing tributes and cute photos capturing their romance.
