'I’m a beach girl at heart': Winter Olympic snowboarder Torah Bright says she 'loves the sun on her body' and has an aversion to the cold

She's famous for her time spent on the ski slopes.

But despite her Olympic medals for snowboarding, Torah Bright feels more at home in a bikini and has an aversion to the cold. 

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the 30-year-old described herself as a 'beach girl at heart'.

The Olympian is currently in Thredbo, where she is preparing for her third Winter Olympics next February, held in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Despite spending the bulk of her time in the snow Torah, who is also an ambassador for Roxy, loves summer and the warmer temperatures.

'I’m a beach girl at heart. I love the sun on my body and the heat that gives me,' Torah told News Corp.

Even more surprisingly Torah never intended to pursue a career in winter sports and had her sights set on two very different job paths growing up. 

'When I was 11 I went and asked for a job at the local florist, I wanted to be a florist,' Torah said.

'I also wanted to be a race car driver. Growing up in the country I begged my dad to take me driving, we’d go out on private roads and he’d teach me how to drive when I was only 10. I wanted to be a rally car driver.'

In 2010, Torah scored her first Olympic medal, winning gold for snowboarding at the Vancover Winter Olympics.

Four years later at the Sochi Winter Olympics the Australian sportswoman scored a silver medal.

Besides competing at the Olympics Torah has also holds a number of lucrative sponsorship deals for Subway and Roxy.
