Get ready for some very mixed emotions. Willy Wonka is coming back to the big screen, for an all-new movie set prior to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

David Heyman, who produced the Harry Potter movie series and its spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, is re-teaming with Warner Bros for what's being described as a possible Wonka-driven franchise.

The movie will not be the chocolatier's origin story, per Variety, instead focusing on the adventures of a young (and presumably hot) Willy Wonka. Roald Dahl never wrote a book focusing on Wonka, although there are a few hints about the iconic character's past buried in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. For one, he apparently saved the Oompa-Loompas from the violent and dangerous Loompaland, so clearly that's a set piece waiting to happen.

If the film does well, more will inevitably follow, with familiar Dahl characters like Charlie Bucket and his family coming into play further own the line. It hasn't been that long since the Tim Burton-Johnny Depp reboot came out, but that film was divisive at best among fans, so here's hoping the new franchise gets off on the right foot. And contains plenty of mouthwatering chocolate imagery.
