Johnny Depp portrays a darker version of Willy Wonka in the upcoming update of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” But one observer questions Depp’s portrayal, and particularly his looks – the longish black hair, the pale skin, the ornate suit jacket and the wispish speaking voice.
“I think the casual viewer is going to see Michael Jackson,” Patrick Lee, news editor of the website Sci Fi Wire, told E! Online.
The film will be released Friday, only a month since Jackson was acquitted of child-molestation charges. The one difference between Wonka and Jackson? “Willy Wonka hates children – that there sets him apart from Michael Jackson,” Lee said.
The June 29 wedding of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had the usual trappings. The bride carried white lilies and roses, the groom wore a platinum wedding band, and the couple exchanged seaside vows at Parrot Cay resort on the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean at a villa owned by Bruce Willis, Us Weekly says.

Michael Lohan is imprisoned on charges of drunken driving and assaulting his brother-in- law at a family party. “People wonder why Lindsay’s so thin,” Michael told the Post. “It’s because of all this garbage between her mother and me. She’s beaten up inside. It’s ripped our whole family apart.”
The skinny one is back on series TV. Lara Flynn Boyle (“The Practice”) will join the cast for the third season of NBC’s “Las Vegas” this fall, USA Today reported. Boyle will play the new owner of the Montecito Casino.
