Twilight star Ashley Greene has landed her next lead movie role after joining the cast for It Feeds.

As reported by Deadline, Greene will star alongside Shawn Ashmore in the horror movie, which is being written, produced and directed by Chad Archibald.

The plot for the film follows “a young girl who insists that a malevolent entity is feeding on her. Greene portrays a clairvoyant therapist who must confront her own personal demons to save the girl before she is taken completely. Ashmore takes on the role of the anguished father, desperately struggling to protect his daughter.”

It Feeds will be a part of a 10-film slate from Productivity Media Inc (PMI) and Black Fawn Films, with PMI president Navid McIlhargey saying: “We have been aware of Black Fawn for some time and are truly excited to create this long term partnership. This slate of genre pictures adds to the breadth of films we want to bring to audiences worldwide.”

“We are beyond thrilled to embark on this new venture with PMI, creating a unique brand of genre films that will not only engage and terrify but pull at the heart strings of our audience,” added Black Fawn president Cody Calahan.

Greene played Alice Cullen in all five instalments of the Twilight film franchise, which made stars out of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Stewart famously beat Jennifer Lawrence to the lead role of Bella Swan, and the latter recently explained how the audition turned out.

“I auditioned for Twilight [and] they turned me down immediately,” she said. “I didn't even get a callback. But my life would've been totally different. I got Hunger Games I think, like, a year later. When it [Twilight] came out, I was like, 'Hot damn'.”

There is currently no release date for It Feeds.
