Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci are officially an item after months of speculation.
An auteur of fantastical and gothic Hollywood hits such as Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns and Alice in Wonderland, Burton and the Italian actress (The Matrix Reloaded) have been spotted out in public linking arms and enjoying each other's company on several occasions, but now their romance is confirmed.
"What I can say... I'm glad I met the man, first of all," Bellucci recently told ELLE France.

"It's one of those encounters that rarely happens in life... I know the man, I love him, and now I'm going to meet the director, another adventure begins."
This was of course in reference to Bellucci's next big screen role in Beetlejuice 2, where she'll portray the wife of Michael Keaton's titular scuzzball bio-exorcist.
Burton directed the original Beetlejuice and has returned for the sequel, which is currently in production with Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Jenna Ortega onboard too.
"I love Tim. And I have great respect for Tim Burton. I love this dream world where the monsters are kind, like we can turn our darker aspects into something bright, forgiving," commented Bellucci.
"Tim Burton's films talk about that a lot."

Burton shares two children with his ex-partner Helena Bonham Carter, whom he separated from after 13 years together back in 2014, while Bellucci was married to Westworld actor Vincent Cassel and the pair co-parent two daughters.
Her other credits include Spectre, The Passion of the Christ and Twin Peaks: The Return.
Beetlejuice 2 has a release date of September 6, 2024.
