When choosing a corset pattern, it's important to note that the pattern measurements listed here are the actual measurements of the corset. You should generally choose a pattern with a corset waist measurement 4-6 inches smaller than your natural waist measurement.
Bust cups (measured horizontally across the breast):
Small A cup: 9 inches
Medium B cup: 9.25 inches
Large C cup: 9.5 inches
Extra Large D cup: 9.75 inches
XXL DD cups: 10 inches
Please note, the vertical measurement of the bust cups is 6 inches. You may need to adjust for your desired coverage during the mockup phase of your corset creation. Remember, every body is unique, so don't expect perfection.
Underbust and hip measurements:
The underbust measurement is taken 5 inches above the waistline, and is 6 inches more than the waist measurement. For example, if you have a natural 24 inch waist measurement, your underbust measurement will be 30 inches (24 inches + 6 inches). The hips will be measured 6 inches below the waistline and will be 9 inches more than the waist measurement.
The table below shows the underbust, waist, and hip measurements for different sizes:

When it comes to corset-making tips, we recommend using pre-cut and capped 1/4" (6mm) spiral steel boning, especially at the side seams, for its flexibility. Spiral steel boning can be found online at corset-making supplier websites, cut to order and capped. Make sure to create a mockup before ordering your boning lengths.
Corset Tips:
* To shorten the corset pattern please subtract from the pattern at 1" above the waistline and smooth the pattern lines. If the hips are to be shortened, do so at 3-4" below the waistline on the pattern.
* To lengthen the corset pattern 1" below the waist. If a substantial length is added, you may need to purchase additional fabric and boning.
* Use pre-cut and capped 1/4" (6mm) spiral steel boning, recommended especially at the side seams, for its flexibility. Spiral steel boning can be found online at corset-making supplier websites, cut to order and capped. Check measurements for boning lengths, boning for remaining seams measure the length of the seam minus 1" (2.5cm). Make sure to create a mockup before ordering your boning lengths. If you are using a boning coil and tipping the ends yourself I recommend at least 6 yards. Better to have a bit more than you need than to be in the midst of a project and need just a touch more than you have.
