Michelle Ryan feared isolation over Bionic Woman role

Actress MICHELLE RYAN has no regrets her 2007 remake of THE BIONIC WOMAN was cancelled after just one series, because she feared becoming "isolated" and out-of-touch with reality in Los Angeles.

The 28 year old signed up to play superheroine Jaime Sommers in the show, a revamp of the hit 1970s drama starring Lindsay Wagner, but the series failed to impress viewers and was subsequently axed.

Ryan admits she would have liked the series to be a "mega-hit" but is happy she is no longer tied to L.A.

She tells the Daily Mirror newspaper, "If it'd worked then it would have been great. I would have loved for it to be a mega-hit and to have done it for five years. But I had ticked so many boxes.

"However, if you get stuck in that system in L.A., I don't know how you would stay amongst everything that's real. So coming back was a great way to touch base with reality. When you're working in that environment and it takes up a year of your life, you can become very isolated."
