A women's cable channel has started preproduction on a television movie about Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba.

"The Natalee Holloway Story," a movie about the 2005 disappearance of the 18-year-old Mountain Brook High School graduate who never returned from a graduation trip.

It's based on the book her mother, Beth Holloway, wrote. The movie focuses on Holloway's efforts to find out what happened.

Tanya Lopez, Lifetime's senior vice president for original movies, said they are pleased to be working with Holloway to raise awareness of how to keep children safe.

Last summer, the channel's movie about Delimar Vera, whose mother found her seven years after she was kidnapped, became the second-most-watched movie in the network's 10-year history.
