Mathieu Valbuena's agent claims the Marseille midfielder has options around Europe as the France international considers a move away from the club following the World Cup.

The 29-year-old has spent eight seasons with OM, scoring 38 goals in 332 appearances. The club's most successful season in that time was 2009-10, when they won the Ligue 1 title and the first of three successive Coupes de la Ligue.

Valbuena's agent Jean-Pierre Bernes told French radio station Europe 1: "He has a contract with Marseille and they are not a small club, they are a big club in France.

"But it is true that given his performances, and if there is the opportunity with a club, it is something we will examine and Marseille as well.

"Nothing is set, there is no destination fixed, there are contact with certain clubs in different European leagues."

Speculation has linked Valbuena with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool and Serie A pair Fiorentina and Napoli as well as Valencia of the Spanish Primera Division.

The diminutive playmaker is currently on international duty with France in Brazil, where he impressed potential suitors in their opening 3-0 win over Honduras before scoring the third goal in their 5-2 success against Switzerland. He was rested for Wednesday's goalless draw with Ecuador.

Marseille on Wednesday finalized the signing of Romain Alessandrini from Rennes, providing another attacking midfield option should Valbuena move on.
