While it was confirmed today by the jeweler who made the ring, they actually had a story last week a week ago showing the various times she's been photographed with the emerald and diamond ring that was given to her by soon-to-be hubby Olivier Martinez. After two nasty divorces and a public custody battle with her daughter's father, Halle swore off marriage--and we believed her. Her love life has been a well-documented headache. So who is this tall, dark and handsome man who won her heart and convinced her to marry again? Let's take a look...
- Oolala...He's French! The 45-year-old actor is from the City of Lights... well, a suburb of Paris anyway. His mom, who's French, was a secretary and his dad, a Spaniard whose family was from North Africa, a pro boxer. Olivier started acting in 1990 and quickly became popular in France. Soon after he moved to Hollywood, he told *Interview *mag: "I'm working on my English because, as you can hear, I have a really terrible accent." Um... terribly *good *accent.
2. Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem Helped Launch His Career. While he was known in France and picked up some newcomer awards there, Americans didn't pay much attention until he was in the critically-acclaimed flick Before Night Falls, which starred Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem. 3. He Was The Hottie in Unfaithful. Remember the supersexed up movie headlined by Richard Gere and Diane Lane? A housewife has a chance encounter with a hot French guy and they have a torrid affair? Well, Olivier was the hot Frenchie and he made the movie pretty steamy. "Your eyes are amazing... You should never shut them. Not even at night!" he purrs in the trailer below.
__4. The Celebrity Ladies LOVE Him.__He came to Halle "Celebrity Approved" in that he's been linked to Juliette Binoche, Mira Sorvino, Kylie Minogue and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. After Halle and Olivier met on the set of Dark Tide, they started seeing each other and were first spotted smooching in Sept. 2010. Here they are looking loved up on the set.
5. Nahla LOVES Him, Too. Halle's daughter with Gabriel Aubry, Nahla, seems like a smitten kitten, too. Here they are on New Year's Day--just a week ago. She's snapped running into his arms. Aww. [*One more time.] *Awwwww.
