Having introduced us to the likes - and wardrobes - of Princess Margaret, Princess Anne and The Queen in the first three series, Netflix's mega hit The Crown wasn't exactly been short of major fashion moments. But when series four landed, those with a fondness for sartorial excellence were among the first on the sofa as we welcomed the eagerly-anticipated arrival of Princess Diana to the storyline.
Played by Emma Corrin in series four and Elizabeth Debicki in series five, this was one character that the wardrobe department couldn't afford to get wrong. Luckily - spoiler alert, for anyone a couple of seasons behind - they didn't.
Now, with the sixth and final series having just launched, fashion fans have been looking forward to another dose of the royal's most memorable fashion moments as Elizabeth Debicki continues on in the role of the beloved Princess of Wales.

Whether you were around to remember Lady Diana Spencer from your younger years or have merely heard, read and watched countless tales of hers, you're likely familiar with the idea that she is now widely-considered quite the style icon.
Whether she was considered as such in her day is a hotly-debated topic, but as some of her favourite trends of the eighties in particular frequently fall back into mainstream trends there's no doubt that several of her looks have been pinned as inspo onto endless mood boards of late.
But how well is The Crown going to do in the wardrobe department when it comes to the people's Princess this season? Scroll down for a sneak peek that should answer that question…
1. The RL shirt and jeans
In August 1997, during a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina - as part of her campaign to raise awareness about the devastating effects of landmines - the Princess of Wales stuck with her new signature style; a crisp shirt and high-waisted trousers. Giving the look a more relaxed, off-duty spin, this look saw a pink Ralph Lauren shirt take centre stage while her more formal trousers were switched out for her favourite straight-leg black jeans.
2. The playful swimsuit
During a holiday in Saint-Tropez in July 1997 - just one month before her death - Diana was spotted aboard a yacht in a series of floral-printed one-piece swimsuits - often by Gottex - that would go on to become her signature, and much loved, summer style. Having frequently showed a penchant for punchy colours, we're confident she would've loved The Crown's fuchsia pink take on the trend.
3. The pastel trousers
Joining the charity Halo Trust in Huambo, Angola, in January 1997, Diana again opted for a crisp, classic shirt but this time paired it with a cropped, pastel yellow trouser. The look was replicated perfectly by The Crown's wardrobe department, right down to the upturned cuffs and bold gold earrings.
4. The belted shift dress
Attending Northwick Park And St. Mark's Hospital in Harrow in July 1997, this belted red shift dress by Catherine Walker was classic Diana. Fun and fashion-first while remaining formal, Debicki's iteration was a perfect take on the look. And can we talk about the hair? 10/10 to the wardrobe and beauty department.
5. The leopard-print swimsuit
Replicating the now famous leopard-print swimsuit by Gottex and worn by Princess Diana on a Mediterranean cruise with Dodi Al Fayed in 1997 just weeks before her tragic death, Elizabeth Debicki perfected the look right down to Diana's favourite oval sunglasses.

1. The famous revenge dress
Worn by Princess Diana in 1994 on the same evening that Prince Charles finally admitted he'd cheated on her during their marriage, the Bardot-sleeved, asymmetric-hem little black dress was by Greek designer Christina Stambolian and was replicated by The Crown’s Emmy-winning costume designer Amy Roberts with permission from Stambolian.
2. The halterneck blue mini dress
Princess Diana wore the blue mini dress in 1995 for a Serpentine Gallery fundraising gala in Hyde Park, but for The Crown season five the look is actually worn during one of the Princess of Wales' final public appearances - attending the English National Ballet's Swan Lake in 1997.
3. The red and black coat dress
Princess Diana wore the red coat dress by Catherine Walker for an official engagement in Birmingham back in 1984, in a look that has been replicated several times by Kate Middleton via her longtime favourite label Alexander McQueen.
4. The floral sun dress
Joining Prince Charles in Seville in 1992, Princess Diana's floral dress designed by Bellville Sassoon has been replicated for a similarly sun-drenched scene in season 5 of The Crown.
